Today is the 62nd anniversary of the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham. As we honor the memory of the four young girls who died we should also remember that their deaths were fueled by the hateful rhetoric of political leaders. I talked about it live on X

Louise and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Annette Shelby, the wife of my former colleague Senator. Richard Shelby. She was truly a remarkable lady and we send our sincere condolences and prayers to Richard and the entire Shelby family.

This is an empty gesture that means nothing. Don’t fall for it. None of the Rule 6e exceptions for disclosure apply and besides, transcripts are just oral testimony - not docs, client lists or bank records. And giving Bondi the discretion to disclose “pertinent” transcripts, not all, is laughable.

It’s way past time for a big conversation about how incredibly unpopular Trump and his agenda is right now. In many recent polls his approval is similar to where Biden’s was when he dropped out of the Presidential race last summer.
