Labour is clasping at straws to explain why it won’t even try to reverse the curse on the UK’s economy & future. I’m tired of Labour blaming everyone else for its failures. 2 million people took to the streets to protest against Orban. But Labour: “we are powerless because of some Hungarian bloke”.

Brexit was a policy promoted almost exclusively by lowlife - liars, drunks, racists, conmen, Putin sympathisers, nutcases. Unfortunately, despite its ENORMOUS continuing economic damage, our government does not have the vision, or the balls, or the political nous, to reverse it. Truly insane.

This is how autocracy works. If you openly support the dictator (elected or non-elected), or if you give cash to the dictator, your requests will be granted, no matter how unlawful they may be. Everyone else? Their requests are denied. Americans are in for a big shock when they realize this.

A certain Mr Faust would like a word.

Referring to him as a ‘journalist’ is a stretch, and referring to his girlfriend Marjorie Taylor Greene simply as a Trump supporter is glossing over the fact that she is QAnon and is seen as bonkers even by other Republicans in Congress. BBC has truly lost its journalistic authority.

And yet the Dems just go through the motions of podcasts and press statements. There is no leader of the Resistance, and no strategy. Even talking points aren’t coordinated. Project 2025 = the end of democracy in 2025! Dems are planning for ‘26 & ‘28??? Yeah, like why rush??FIND A MLK OR MANDELA NOW
March 1, 2025 at 3:14 PM
The Democrats desperately need a real leader. Some with impeccable integrity, someone who can formulate a STRATEGY, someone willing to risk everything to defeat the coup. They can’t even get their message lines together at the moment. Headless chickens spring to mind.

I do hope so!

Badenoch and Farage are both auditioning to be Musk’s person to run the UK. And it may be Musk rather than Trump who has more impact on the UK’s future. He has learned how easy it is to buy a country, with the help of targeted misinformation.
February 28, 2025 at 8:27 AM
My point is that Trump is a thug with imperialist ambitions, and seems to be forging a close alliance with Putin. The UK will be caught in the middle and the pressure (economic, political, possibly military) will be enormous. Starmer did a good job buying time.
February 28, 2025 at 8:25 AM
Starmer has bought some time. But Trump will pressure him for many things, including letting US healthcare companies ravage the NHS. And Musk will try to put Farage or another useful idiot in power. His money and digital brainwashing will be a fullscale assault on British democracy.
February 28, 2025 at 8:16 AM
There will be political violence in the US this year. In fact, there already has been, against immigrants. But the thug in the White House, his drunken Sec of Defense, and his lunatic head of the FBI will not hesitate to unleash violence against brave, non-violent opponents.

It definitely won’t be the liberty to join a trade union. I think he probably means the liberty of billionaires such as himself to make money free of regulations, consideration for society or the environment, etc.

He is losing the plot completely. Perhaps someone has some Kompromat on him?

BJ is a day late and a dollar short. He put the son of a KGB officer into the House of Lords. He suppressed the Russia Report. He’s a fraud.
February 22, 2025 at 3:47 PM
I totally agree. In every dictatorship there must be a Resistance. There must be a STRATEGY put forward and executed by a LEADER. Press conferences, all saying different things, are not a strategy to topple a tyrant Dems are in a rut from 50 years ago, waiting for an election cycle.
February 22, 2025 at 3:40 PM
Rick Wilson. I just hope that there ARE free and fair elections in 2026 - that’s a big ‘if’. And I hope that the US is not attacked by a foreign power or terrorist organization after Musk-Trump have weakened its defenses so much. They have opened the door wide to bad actors, esp for intel.

Sunak chose to lead a party which appealed directly to racists and other kinds of bigots, as did Badenoch. Remember the Goldsmith campaign against Sadiq Khan? Remember when Tory members chose loony Truss over Sunak? Self-awareness is not a key competency among today’s Tories.

Maybe this woman shouldn’t have chosen to have a child with a drug addict who has the emotional maturity of a five-year-old.

OMG the headline writers at the NYT are little N-zis. The paper has so little value now.
February 20, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Trade and national security were once separate areas of decision making. In our globalized world that’s no longer true. The UK needs to start the process of rejoining as an urgent matter of national security. It cannot fight fascism (ie Musk’s unlimited wealth and malice) alone.
February 15, 2025 at 1:32 PM
At what point will these leading voices of the right finally admit that Brexit delivered a huge victory to Putin/Trump, as they themselves said, and was an incredibly damaging for the UK to do? Will they wait for the start of WWIII to say that? Trade, regulation & national security are inseparable.
February 15, 2025 at 1:15 PM
Things must be getting REALLY bad if I find myself agreeing with Corbyn. I fear that Starmer is losing his way, and I fear for the future of British democracy.
February 15, 2025 at 11:12 AM
Actually much of the US media glossed over the crimes of the career criminal who became president. I think THAT helped him win. Not so long ago, a single scandal would topple a minister. The British media helped end that practice through its complicity.

Considering how well Reform are polling, and how much airtime the BBC give Reform (5 MPs) in comparison with the LibDems (72 MPs), maybe the BBC could spare 5 minutes to unmask the liars and crooks BEFORE they take high office?
