Top five songs of the year: Three from Kylie (Your Disco Needs You, Tension, and On a Night Like This) and two Eurovision songs (Secret Combination and ICH KOMME) My most-listened-to album was the Tension Tour.

Continuing with the #MST3K shorts-a-thon: "Are You Ready for Marriage?"

"It's Bobby Orr's Electric Marriage! Real marriage action!"
A dullard and his girlfriend visit a marriage counselor after they want to get married at 18 and 19. The counselor brings out this contraption to show how far apart mentally they are through the phases of their life. Two dolls (one male, one female) are placed on a board at the base. To their left, the Y axis is measured in ten-year increments, starting at 0 and ending at 80. Attached to the two dolls are pieces of string, with larger versions of the dolls at the end. The path of the string indicates how far they are apart over time along the X axis. I'm sure it makes sense to him.

Right after the glorious entry of Field Marshal Zhukov (played by Jason Isaacs), he confronts Khrushchev and Beria about why the NKVD are in charge of the train stations and not his troops. Zhukov is wearing an entire chest full of medals on a navy uniform with golden epaulets. (Actually far fewer than the real Zhukov wore.) I never drank coffee much when I lived in the Midwest, combination of mediocre coffee and a Diet Coke obsession.

Then I moved to Portland, forecasts like this made me finally get it.
Portland forecast for the next ten days Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, clouds, clouds, rain, rain, rain… Highest temp is 61, there is a low in the 40s for Saturday night. And it’s raining now as well. So now I got that to worry about.

Looking for a chest freezer for the basement (for reasons) and I have come across one of the most American charts I think I've ever seen. How much of a cow CAN I stuff into this thing?
Guide from Lowe's about how much can fit into various freezers, with a helpful column listing "pounds of beef" one can fit in, with a silhouette of a cow shaded in from the smallest (1/16) to the largest (whole). Apparently how much of a single cow's... um... output you can fit in it. Though with the price of beef going through the fucking roof, they might want to consider an alternative measurement unit.
