That of course is in reference to the news that she ordered the coast guard to potentially let a guy die because she wanted the rescue plane to be used to harass immigrants for ICE

For a couple days I didn't think it had happened, especially the Jesse Jackson part. I didn't want to tell anybody, even the guy I shared the room with, I'd had such a weird dream. Then the stories finally reached Saskatchewan and it was even weirder than I'd thought

By his logic — such as it is — he will now have to place punitive sanctions on his own country for his having said this

There is an echo-chamber problem. But it is only one side of the political spectrum who are climbing into echo chambers. The rest of us consume media for information and to shape our opinions with diverse voices. The right consumes stuff that affirms pre-existing affinities and validates prejudices

The Dominican Republic has fewer than 12 million people, and eliminating birthright citizenship there a decade ago created 150,000 stateless people — that is, citizens of no country who can’t legally reside anywhere.

Imagine if a country of 400 million did it.

Don't ask my how I fell down this particular rabbit hole, but the member changes of the band Steppenwolf, both the reasons and the names, could easily be a pseudo-documentary directed by the late Rob Reiner

The big snow storm I can endure. Apple’s consistent lack of awareness that the past tense of “forecast” is “forecast,” I can’t

It’s in the word itself, people. Fore-cast.

Even worse than the street execution is the fact that the executive branch is openly using it to extort the state to hand over its voter database, or presumably the killings will continue

Carney dodged a bullet by being un-invited from the “Board of Peace” abomination. He knew he would have to say no eventually, he declined the billion-dollar bribe — but he didn’t want to be the one pulling the plug at this moment.

Well I'm glad they warned me about this, but it's a sad state of affairs when Microsoft's service team is forced to use America Online email accounts it got in the mail in 1996.
