Oh! If you’re wondering I’m on the correct route now! It takes a bit, but we get there in the end!
dovelynnwriter.bsky.social
Ah. It’s “not slowing down the traffic with turns to get to this building”. Not a fan. It’s a cycling lane for a reason.
dovelynnwriter.bsky.social
And I just want to point out that I’m on foot. Also cars what the eff are you doing on the cycling lane?!

The bus yard, in case you were wondering, is a square or a rectangle with a wide open area for buses to park in. You know the type of space you can go through in a straight line.

So obviously I went in the opposite direction then circled the wrong way trying to fix that.

Point in case: it has taken me five minutes to navigate the bus yard to find the way to follow the app.

Fun fact: one of the reasons I don’t have a drivers’ license is because I need more than a split second to tell left from right and this is already dangerous on a bicycle.

It’s one of the things people generally don’t really grasp about dyscalculia affecting you.

Rachel Ayers highlights six of the many fine retellings of the fairy ballad Tam Lin. I was honoured to publish @pameladean.bsky.social's extraordinary Tam Lin in the Fairy Tale Series (Tor Books), and I'm delighted to see it listed as one of the greats. It truly is. reactormag.com/a-knight-to-...

I didn’t know what it was at the time and knowing would’ve meant I could’ve looked for an instructor with an understanding of and experience with my particular set of issues because I’d have known what to look for and ask.

I had other reasons too, but THAT one could’ve been addressed well.

Other fun fact: Yes, I could learn to drive and it’d be perfectly safe. It’s not like dyscalculia meand you absolutely cannot ever. It’s just when I was a teen and asked if I wanted lessons “But I can’t tell left from right and almost bash into my friends’ bikes” was one of the reasons I said no.

Anyway, have morning musings on life when you can’t tell left from right fast or reliably and can’t read maps!
dovelynnwriter.bsky.social
I have other concerns about me cycling anywhere, but for sure a new route is not it because I will need to stop repeatedly to check the route and I will mess it up and risk being late in a way I won’t on foot or with public transport. It’s easier for me to monitor traffic and the map on foot.

Another is “oh just cycle there” because the assumption is that you can memorise a new route in one go. I, er, have managed to get lost on a straight line.

I was in York once for an interview, trying to get back to the hostel afterwards. I wound up at a museum ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN repeatedly.

Tech fails are so deeply frustrating!
dovelynnwriter.bsky.social
We’ll take the silver linings. I hope you can figure out what’s causing it soon and it won’t take long to fix! 💕

Looks the same as Kimberly’s screenshot to me on both mobile and desktop requests. Might be your browser’s declining or blocking something your site needs to load properly?

Hope they can figure out what's wrong soon and fix it. <3

I think it bounced for some reason. T_T I can't find anything in any of the folders it could be in.
dovelynnwriter.bsky.social
Thanks! I’m terrified, but also hopeful. I’d still need to learn a lot, but overall it could be a really good fit for my experiences.

Aaaah! I was contacted to get in touch about a job interview. Aaaaaaaaaah!

I’ll check when I’m home! (My inboxes are an absolute mess. 😅)

Oh. And now it crashed. Thanks, brain. I appreciate you running yourself out with anxiety in about two hours BEFORE NINE IN THE MORNING. It’s not like I need a brain for the rest of the day or anything. 🤦‍♀️

My brain is having A Week and it’s only Tuesday. I know why, but that’s not really helping it not being ridiculously extra and useless.
