Did you miss the LIS Research seminar on "Obstacles to Open Access publishing for researchers with weak institutional ties"?

If so, never fear, the recording is now out! I'd really recommend giving it a listen.

Back to the actual and current Presidential candidates -with all the Jim Gavin shenanigans of the last 24 hours it may have not grabbed people’s attention that Heather Humphreys just threw trans people under the bus in response to a Grift dot ie reporters question! So there’s that! #aras25 #speirgorm

Worth suggesting maybe abandoning tedious TV debates and instead do a keepy uppies competition between the two candidates.
Which I would watch. #Aras25

"from hard experience, I and others working in scholarly communications have learned that the term “institutional repository” often elicits blank expressions from faculty. It is much more efficient to emphasize prestige, visibility, impact, legacy, flexibility—whatever resonates." buff.ly/UsQhdNA
When Focusing on Terminology Becomes a Hurdle to Open Access Outreach
Conversations about open access can be riddled with distracting language. But what if we treated these failures to communicate as opportunities to learn more?

More than muses: The Women at the Centre of Surrealism

Often idealized, portrayed as mysterious creature, goddess, she-devil, fetish and muse, objects of both fear and erotic desire, women joining the Surrealist circles started questioning their own reflection

Genuinely baffled by the wailing and pearl clutching about Maria Steen not being on the ballot. Why are people acting like she was basically owed the nomination, or we are obliged to have her on the ballot? She started her campaign like 5 minutes before the deadline and failed, she is owed nothing.
