I fail to understand why anyone is going along with this. In other authoritarian regimes, there is an incentive to protect loved ones. The only folks here being threatened/physically harmed are the "others". Most followers aren't getting any $$ benefit, so why aren't more people just walking away?

Honestly, this regime isn't hard to fool though. I plan to show up election day with an American flag on my shirt (bc somehow they think it only belongs to them), my lightest makeup, and a plain red hat and hope to walk right in unmolested.
