I hope you’re right, it’s been obvious to me for decades but I understand what you mean because establishment media gaslights the public to ignore it.

This is good timing for Americans. They still have 3.5 years of Trump left. Then they'll move to Democrats who won't need to offer anything for two terms, so it'll be at least a decade until ANYTHING good happens.

I don't live in USA, but this stuff used to stress me out. I've since decided to laugh at it & all of you. Yes, your stupidity has consequences, but luckily the impact to USA is much greater than the rest of us, so I look at it that way now. All good as long as you're harming yourselves more than us

Yes, it can still come here. It’s slowed down if you have things like universal healthcare because people with less to lose turn to fascism & similar ideologies.
I follow UK politics particularly closely as i lived there and i see the signs coming here. They will vote Nigel Farage as their next PM

I agree. The positive is that in the last election, our right centre party tried a diet maga agenda & they got one of the worst results in their history.
But, wherever Murdoch media is, fascism isn’t usually too far away. We are, in part, only saved some of the worst of it because we’re irrelevant

It was slightly dark humour. I forget in America it’s given more credence. I live in the country with (I think) the highest covid vaccine rate in the world. It’s more a point about how old and useless democrats are.

I mean the democrat hierarchy are horrid. They have a history of being horrid, that’s why they’re in the role. The only positive is that they’re ancient. Early COVID was your best chance of getting rid of them by coughing on a few and hoping they spread it to the others.

That is exciting to be fair. America has such potential. That’s a weird thing to say about the only superpower of my lifetime but they just have so much money if they want to do something good for their own people rather than invade the wrong country for twenty years because they can’t find a map.

Tricky? They’ll do whatever their donors instruct them to do. It’s kind of where I’m going, supporting either major party is ludicrous. Get rid of your campaign finance laws, then you’re living in the real world. South Australia just instituted publicly funded elections after the premier visited USA

That’s fair. I think the democrats will get back into power without having to promise much (just by virtue of not being Trump), people will realise nothing has improved and then anything could happen. I hope it’s something more positive but USA has let me down many times before.

If we’re boiling it down to what people THINK , most us voters THINK trump was the best person to run their country having seen his previous behaviour, so I THINK most Americans are a bunch of thickies who belong in care homes with a feed bag strapped to their heads to stop them from starving.

I have no idea, it’s not about what I “think”. I do know he’s on the flight logs and I do know that Netanyahu blackmailed him over Monica Lewinsky (which shows there’s a motivation to compromise him) which makes me think there’s a non zero chance that USA have at least two known nonce presidents.

This will get a lot worse yet. The democrats have their lowest polling I think in 35 years which tells you everything. It turns out that Jefferies and Schumer aren’t the answer either.

The media isn't fit for purpose. Outlets don't want to talk about this topic because much of their listenership are in this demographic. We've also seen with Gaza and Epstein (Trump was allowed to stand at three elections before much of the recent info hit mainstream media) how ineffectual they are.
