I get why TechCrunch would write it this way, but I largely disagree with this framing. The broad conversation here is about power, respect, control and whether the voices of the vulnerable are taken seriously. This is the story of a leader and a team showing that they don’t get that.

Real backups must to be automatically maintained as multiple encrypted, integrity-checked, tested, monitored, and documented historical copies, on different media, offsite, and offline or immutable.

RAID, snapshots, Apple Time Machine, Windows Volume Shadow, cloud storage, availability zone mirroring, database replication, Git/GitHub, DRBD. These are all useful, but NOT true backups.

επειδή διάβασα πολύ υλικό το ΣΚ:

- το ότι η bsky team επιμένει να μην έχει dedicated communications team είναι πολύ κακή επιλογή γιατί εκτίθεται ανεπανόρθωτα σε μια βάση χρηστών που τους υποστήριξε θερμά όταν το Bluesky άνοιξε προς όλους

ταυτόχρονα όμως παραδέχονται ότι θέλει τεχνική γνώση και άρα δύσκολο να το κάνουν απλοί χρήστες, οι οποίοι ήρθαν εδώ βλέποντας ότι κάτι μοιάζει στο x εμφανισιακά και ουσιαστικά το πίστεψαν

- παίζουν και κάτι θεωριούλες ότι θέλουν να νευριάσουν τον κόσμο για να τους ωθήσουν σε δικά τους δίκτυα με βάση το atproto, αλλά οι φωνές που εμπιστεύομαι πιο πολύ σε τέτοια θέματα μιλούν καθαρά για incompetence (με λίγα λόγια έχουν χάσει την μπάλα)

- υπάρχει η άποψη ότι έχει πάρει μεγάλες διαστάσεις η γαματοσύνη του atproto (κάτι που όντως ισχύει), οπότε το μοντέλο τους είναι να συνεχίσουν να αναπτύσσουν μόνο σε αυτό το πλαίσιο και δεν τους πολυενδιαφέρει κιόλας το community του BS που ήρθε εδώ ως καταφύγιο από το x
