Star Trek, history and book nerd. The order depends on the day of the week.
Oh wow! I love them! They put in a Saruman scene in the third one that’s my favorite scene in the books. You’ll know it when you see it. Enjoy!

What a great show. Anything Vince or his team want to put on a screen should be automatically green lit somewhere

Piano Man is great yeah but this is his BEST song in a catalog of great music

25 years on, the trilogy really holds up. I’ve seen the extended versions so much, I forget some of what was an addition and what wasn’t.

Wouldn’t be surprised. Disney will never release it.

Agreed. I would particularly like to know the details of what happened between 8 and 9 that turned 9 into such a messy disappointment of a film. I loved the Rinzler books on the originals.

And if some of his supporters think my reaction is demeaning and vindictive, I will point them to Trump’s reaction to these murders and tell them that I’m perfectly happy with my reaction and they’ll just have accept it and leave me tf alone

He is incapable of being a good messenger on the topic of affordability. In fact, it might be far and away his worst. And the Republicans are going to lose elections because of it.

Feeling old. Next summer will mark 40 years of Trek for me. All thanks to a borrowed copy of Mr. Scott’s Guide to the Enterprise which I devoured in a day and a half

She’s the perfect FP hire. She wants to be close to power but not make any judgments about what the people in power are actually doing and what impact those decisions are actually having on average Americans

Yep. And also there’s a special circle in hell for people that pretend to be disabled. As someone with a “minor” short circuit in my brain (so no pretending here), I have zero patience for that bs

I remember. You had to sync your IPod with the ITunes on your computer every morning. Took a crazy amount of time

Lots of his work is on this list and all deservedly so. My personal favorite is In the Garden of Beasts
November 20, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Couldn’t put this one down. It was excellent

That’s my head canon so I can enjoy the show better. And I get that Trek is 60 years old and being super careful to make sure everything fits neatly between the 2 is not practical but I feel like they’re not even trying in some spots and trying too hard in others. See the Ortegas episode…

And there’s just no way to square this as a direct TOS prequel in some ways. I love the Chapel character and actress but there’s no way all this happened before TOS. I had to stop trying to tie the shows together. It was aggravating me too much
November 15, 2025 at 10:05 PM
It was Balance of Terror and yeah I really liked that one. I’m a sucker for time travel/time bending stories in nearly any form
November 15, 2025 at 9:47 PM
My problem is that there’s too much focus on Kirk to the detriment of characters like Number One and even Pike to some degree in S3. Ortegas got one focused episode which was very good. And yet they still had to tie it to TOS’s Arena to work themselves out of the Gorn box they made
November 15, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Yeah. I know we have yet to see 4, but I expect 5 to lean heavily into it green light or not. Kirk’s Enterprise is the show he wants to do
November 15, 2025 at 9:30 PM
He wants ST-Year One so badly. I have a feeling that ends up like Legacy and gets a set up but no green light
November 15, 2025 at 9:24 PM
At some point post 2028, Skydance will have to invest in Star Trek. Taylor Sheridan is leaving. I am hoping that Academy does well (and to your point about SNW, that Goldsman stays away from it. He’s not my favorite showrunner tbh

If the Giants don’t hire him (as a fan I hope they don’t), his time in the NFL is well and truly over

If Keiko had been a regular character on DS9, she’d have been a better character. The actress chose not to be a regular cast member. The result was unfortunate
November 13, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Brad Whitford too. Completely stacked.
November 12, 2025 at 3:23 AM
It’s very very good. The book used is excellent so it’s not a surprise. Top notch casting helps too
