Not really. The economic blackout was the purview of a relatively small, online community. If I had to guess, even if the rest of Americans knew about it, they didn't think it would make a significant difference (and frankly, I agree with them). And no, I participated anyway.

Disagree. There have always been greedy capitalists and our society has survived. The decay is coming from a growing uneducated, uninformed, gullible segment of our society and a bunch of political leaders exploiting that ignorance to their advantage and financial gain.
