Having a patient who is Colombian really motivates me to go back to some of my photos from my March trip!

Hummingbirds in Colombia not only have iridescent gorgets. They also have iridescent tails 🤯

Bird photography can be an illusion and some award winning shots published are of birds being baited into coming closer

So when I’m able to nail a photo of a bird from an incredibly close distance, it makes me all the more happy my patience and time birding paid off

Having moved into our new apartment this past January, I birded a pair of fox sparrows in the community greenbelt. They migrated out in spring and I was hoping for their return this fall

One has returned yesterday! 🥰

Fox Sparrows in the “wild” wild are not as conspicuous, so please enjoy!
