So proud of everyone at Tilburg University, the Department of Social Psychology, and all of the Tilburg citizens outside of academia who participated in today's protest march in Tilburg to signal that we are against the academic/educational budget cuts proposed by the Dutch government!

My awesome friend @georghenning.bsky.social from the German Centre of Gerontology/Deutsche(s) Zentrum für Altersfragen will appear on Austria's ORF3 to share his expertise on aging and retirement on April 9!

Hard to generalize across phenomena and populations but: I always assess education & SES in my research + often (subjective) knowledge etc. I also tend to collect data online, so those older adults are already more tech-savvy than others. Knowledge/literacy do not consistently drive age differences.

In our new paper, @loeckenhoff.bsky.social and I examine why older adults are more likely to avoid making decisions.

We find that a writing intervention makes choosing less taxing and stressful (yay us!), but does not decrease avoidance tendencies (boo!).
