My worries are more that authors get convinced to do suggested hanges not because the substance of the argument but because of the "big name" of the reviewer. Also if undisclosing identity becomes a norm, ecr may start self censoring their reviews in fear of negative consequences

in some fields of psych it gets increasingly common that reviewers undisclose their identity for full transparency, I got people signing their reviews for the last two papers I sent to personality psych journals. Not sure if I think this is a good idea, but it would probably be possible

ja, gibt verschiedene Möglichkeiten! In der STudie geht es um 16-25, da sind ja Jugendliche mit drin und nicht umsonst ist Kinder & Jugendpsychotherapie aktuell eine eigenständige Ausbildung,und imho gibt es da auch zu wenig Therapieforschung und in Deutschland auch zu wenig Lehrstühle...

i just thinkt the fit may only be obvious to me :D And I have rarely any comment to the chapter which is really well-written, so basically giving feedback including noticing some typos and the recommendation to cite my own paper feels weird :D

Oh, the urge to recommend citing my own paper, but I never recommend my own papers in reviews on principles 😅

⚡ Mendelian randomization suggests causal effects:
Higher blood pressure and type 2 diabetes drive accelerated brain aging — each 1 SD increase in blood pressure corresponds to ~0.5 years older brain age.

Results of the generalized summary-data-based Mendelian randomization (GSMR) results for 3 risk factors (exposures) and combined brain age gap (outcome). Each plot shows multiple genetic variants serving as instruments to test for causality between the exposure and outcome variable. Under a causal model, variant effects on the outcome (bzy; y-axis) are expected to be linearly proportional to the variant effects on the exposure variable (bzx; x-axis). The ratio between bzy and bzx provides an estimate of the mediation effect of x on y (bxy). Variants flagged for potential horizontal pleiotropy were excluded using the HEIDI-outlier method. s.e. standard error of the mediation effect; pxy P value of the mediation effect.
