NCAR manages the Wyoming Supercomputing Center, where researchers from other institutions have access to high-performance computing resources (most recently Cheyenne and now Derecho) to model weather, climate, wildfires, air pollution, etc. Everyone is less safe if NCAR is dismantled.
In Hawaiʻi, we’re two hours behind the mainland but really five years behind.
