New op-ed we made for the good folks @theatlantic.com
The moral panic about “The Simpsons” in the ’90s was not unusual, writes Alan Siegel. It was part of a long tradition of culture wars waged under the pretense of politics:
‘Look, This Show’s Good. It’s Essentially Moral.’
“The Simpsons” has always been a wholesome show—even if some critics didn’t necessarily understand that.

Really loved this quote from BLESS in the ‘unlicensed: bootlegging as creative practice’ ‘We create whenever we feel the need for something, be it a product or a situation that we find ourselves in when clients, people and institutions would invite us to participate or come up with a project.’

Further down the indie memory rabbit hole listening to the great @22grandpod.bsky.social this time @transgressive.bsky.social mentioning the now sadly gone Pure Groove records who we did our first ever record cover for in second year of studying at Manchester school of art back in 2009?!

Been going through @22grandpod.bsky.social back catalogue and really enjoyed the Didx interview, not sure I realised at the time but the early Cooper Temple Clause artwork campaign definitely moved me towards being a designer for music, really interesting to hear about how some of it came together

Went and caught the Ray Harryhausen exhibition at Waterside Arts in Sale, getting to see one of the skeletons from Jason & the Argonauts really tore me back to being 6 and watching it on a rainy Sunday growing up in Kendal, loads of beautiful illustrations too

Went to drop off calendars at the Modernist, Unitom & Village books last night. It’s wild that a few years ago we had a kind of failing Magma & now we have these along with Queer Lit & Rare Mags and they’re all brilliant indi bookshops. Give Bezos the cold shoulder & go support these legends this 🎄
