I own an antiquarian bookshop with my husband, Jon, named Munster & Company, coach my kids soccer team, am a Girl Scout Leader, a member of our schools PTA, on the Corvallis School District Budget Committee, and do bookkeeping and upholstery on the side.
From Jon:
Happy International Women's Day! Today we're working on a rather exceptional recent arrival that has brought our attention to the importance of women in science.

Today I want to introduce you to two Oregon Pioneers, Hanna and Eliza Gorman. They came to Oregon in 1844 as slaves, and by 1850 they owned their own home in Corvallis, OR. They were beloved members of the community. sos.oregon.gov/archives/exh...

So, day one, we saw a nazi salute behind the presidential podium by a stoned billionair. It is going to be a long four years. Conserve your energy, and protect your friends. We stand with you against all of this.

Jon is just finishing up working on a sammelband of ten 18th century publications including this piece that explores whether it is legal to...umm... assist in shuffling a tyrant off the old mortal coil, so to speak.

How festive.

Today's challenge in staycation entertainment while Jon was at work was to teach the kids, and Nana, Hobbs's rules dominos on my Grandparents' old set. Lots of great memories. Now it is Charlotte and Oliver's turn to skunk us.

Sadly, after removing more carpet we realized, and have come to accept, that restoring the original fir floors is beyond our current financial and time constraints, so the new plan is to take careful notes, and preserve it under water proof LVP, until a far future date. Some day my floors, some day.

We found the original 100+ year old growth fir flooring under the old carpet! Day 1 of demo has gone well! 😍
