Now if journalists were supposed fanboys of said creator then needless to say it would only serve to propel the fact that others were also upset E33 won GOTY. Just saying.

There's a bias that forms in journalism to not get the full picture from the studio itself and set the headline they want. MSM is guilty for doing this exact thing. Now not to coincidentally connect the dots but there was a popular creator who wanted Arc Raiders to win over E33.

If studios are using Gen AI in combination with RL inspiration for art but don't lean on it fully, than that I don't care about. Again the data isn't known just how much the artists leaned on for Gen AI. But because the narrative of AI being used in studios has caused such a downturn.

The artists at both these studios could very well have used Gen AI for inspiration but they could have also used RL references for art as well. Now I'm for AI in game dev if it streamlines the more difficult processes. But it shouldn't be used to cut costs.

After that mess of an announcement, no thank you. I know they probably have talented devs but when you spend thousands on influencers to promote your game just to shut the game down? Maybe if leadership knew something about Game Dev that wouldn't happen.
