Also holy fuck, doing activist work in real life and working on my art privately is FAR MORE FULFILLING than injecting manmade horrors and cruelty into my eyeballs through the internet

That's a huge reason why I'm not active on social media anymore. talking about current events makes me feel horrible, and it's way easier to just Not Be On The Site than filter out all of my lovely friends who can post about the world's horrors without getting depressed

all online news feels like "look at this clusterfuck of Incredibly Urgent Existential Threats that you need to be angry and upset about" and it doesn't make me angry or upset anymore, it just makes me depressed

I'm not sure if "satire of the military-industrial complex" is the right word to describe them, but they're definitely not supposed to be morally upstanding. It's surprising that there's, apparently, people out there who don't get that?
