the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

I’ve been trying ultimate charge, boost tuner 2(or a quick charge), and the drift charge kit. Pulling out the invincibility from the 4th charge lvl at the right time consistently seems dodgy no matter what though. I still often end up getting clobbered by an item at the end.

Discovered by WHOI biologist Larry Madin and colleagues, this 4-inch-long animal was just one of roughly 6,000 new species uncovered during the Census of Marine Life, a decade-long global effort involving more than 2,700 scientists to explore and document ocean life.

To be fair, I don't think that claim can be made without seeing more information on the total process of development for the material (like a scientific paper write-up). And China certainly funds their own experimental/basic research (what the "stupid study's" usually fall under).

Little process video of the last painting. Started with a 3D mock-up to help make some lighting and perspective decisions. I needed to take some extra photo reference gathering trips to the woods before I could make decisions about the forest floor though.

Finished this one finally. Arro emerges from the brush to step into the late afternoon light, something ahead has caught his attention. Did some 3D to help with this, will post the wips next.

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

Apparently I do bird crafts now. Hopefully these preserve well, it’s my first time drying bird bits with salt and borax. (This is a dusky grouse hen, legal to harvest and own, be aware many other birds are protected under the MBTA and are illegal to possess)

Apparently thanking new followers get you a bunch more...who I now have to thank. It might be a looping trap, but I don't care I'm not afraid I'll simply share one of my early paintings the day I want all of you to go away.

Anyway thanks a lot, again, to the new people following me! :)

The scene is a double duel, a large golden-white dragon is fighting a dark spirit, while a dashing hero (also clad in golden white as the cliché requires it) face and evil, dark knight. Originality all around as you can see.

If you enjoy stylish comics that are well drawn and well written check out this project by fellow ArenaNet-er Daniel Barnes. Aside from writing for GW2 he's also written for the IDW Sonic and Oni Aggretsuko comics. The art is similarly handled by some excellent IDW Sonic veterans.

I’m enjoying the Sonic Crossworlds beta, in terms of racers I’ve only played a few, but enjoying the concise amount of customization the gadgets give you. Allows you to vary the gameplay just enough to play however you want, giving it a little more depth than Mario Kart. Pretty fun.
