So much of the fandom has moved on to other things and isn't even keeping up with Marvel now that it's all quantity with no quality. How can it possibly turn a profit?

Seconding Strangers from the Sky. It's got some minor canonical inaccuracies but WHAT a book

Even from a storytelling/writing perspective I thought this was a weak instalment

I'm trying to avoid being ranty on main about everyone's favourite franchise, but I'm flat shocked to see so many people calling this one their favourite of the three

Finished one and DNF'd the other, as foretold

I have no regrets. Both were excellent amazing books but Not For Me.

The film reminded me of Midnight Mass a lot - like they were aping the aesthetic - but where Midnight Mass felt authentic and deep, this felt hollow to me, too. and I know zilch about Catholicism beyond media portrayals! but the whole move fell flat for me.

I'm going to finish one of these and probably not the other, and it is what it is. ughhhhh or I guess I could finish both. but why??

I feel like this year's GR Choice are leaning heavily litfic, even (maybe especially) in the speculative categories. Such a weird selection imo.
