A good bio and obit on the Cheyenne/Arapaho artist Harvey Pratt, who was also a forensic artist and marine. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/15/arts/design/harvey-pratt-dead.html

Things getting more muddled.

“…Star Comes Out said his earlier statement had been ‘misinterpreted’ and that there was no such demand from federal officials. He said the tribe had been in ‘cooperative communications’ with federal officials about the issue and that federal officials had said that […]

It's the little things.

Still waiting on the Texans to disappoint me like usual. They sure tried to on Monday, but pulled it off instead. I'm hoping for a super bowl run. https://twitter.com/HoustonTexans/status/2011528403896451444

Proud of Sterlin Harjo getting a second season of “Lowdown”. He’s a great storyteller and does a wonderful job of casting light on the everyday NDN, even through stories that aren’t what we expect as Indigenous ones […]

I’ve always celebrated Thanksgiving for what it is to most people—a gathering of family and friends over a meal. I hope your day, however you choose to observe it, is filled with love and people, no matter how frustrating or angering some of them can be at times. We’re better together.

Watched Train Dreams tonight and found it a beautifully tragic exploration of the pain that life so often gives us mixed with the beauty of the world and goodness of humanity that remains.

My favorite movie since The Banshees of Inisherin (both that and Train Dreams have Kerry Condon). Also […]

I watched the second season of Shiny Happy People about Teen Mania leader Ron Luce. I was never in Teen Mania, but I was in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) right down the road from them in Texas.

The end of this season was disappointing in that they tried too hard to pin the whole of Christian […]
