Really cool to have given a talk at #microbio25, I can cross it off the list! If anyone want to chat about looking into the urobiome as a reservoir of AMR and replicating AMR acquisition in a 3D bladder model, give me a shout!! #microsky #utisky

Disappointing response from The Royal Society. Looks like I'll be looking for other funders to reject my grants in the future...

The current state of politics is in full view at the moment. Starmer is being criticised (by Labour, Tories and Reform) for appointing Mandelson as an ambassador for his link to Epistein while the same parties are happy to host and cosy up to Trump who has the same links. Make it make sense, please!

Yes, we've unfortunately had human faeces as well, that was a horrendous afternoon

that membrane packing defects and lipid domain formation further influence susceptibility, and that PG sequestration via ion pairing may contribute to resistance, but likely in combination with other mechanisms (3/3)

lysyl-phosphatidylglycerol (3adLPG), the we show that ion pairing between PG and 3adLPG can shield PG from daptomycin binding, reducing membrane disruption. However, when calcium levels rise, this protective effect breaks down, allowing daptomycin to access its target. Our study suggests (2/3)

Is there anything more frustrating that speaking to a funder on an application, getting feedback to change to a specific focus, applying that feedback and then being rejected without going to review because "other applications are more explicitly focused on translational IPC".

Very annoyed.
