It seems connected to vaporware being a by-product of VC funding systems. The need for an entire industry sell "visions of the future" as their main product in order to remain solvent seems to lead to a type of psychosis where you begin to perpetually gaslight yourself into idiocy.

I was studying Luke 11:34 about the eyes being the lamp of the body; I had always interpreted it as "watch what you focus on because it can affect your heart," but it actually more echoes this idea: the eyes are the windows of the soul and the internal life matters more than changing circumstances.

To me this is more of an endorsement of the importance of investing in resources to develop quality online instruction & properly train instructors for online the evidence points to a significant inability even in the highest institutions to catch up on this learning curve in real-time when required
