“Human kids always got picked on for being the youngest Drahari, that were an afterthought to the Dragons. The Church says the Dragons created by each shedding a drop of blood, that our birth settled the siblings’ quarrels.”

Earthdawn was the Legendary (pun intended) TTRPG that we played as much as #DnD because it rocked so hard. The rules made us feel like legends in the making.

“Some say Ogres use ice for blankets, for it is warmer than our spirits, but have never shared a tribe’s bonfire at saga recital. Music, sport, and heroic tales told by children coming of age give us warmth enough to endure.”

“The reason that Dwarves are the hardiest workers, best artists, and most stoutest warriors is the same reason we’re also the best looking. We were shaped from a molten scale of Philryr himself!”

Archery hooked me at 5 years old. By 10 (ca. 1991, AD&D 2e), I’d made a half-elf ranger with a bow, wolf companion, and outdoor skills. I grew up hunting, so it fit perfectly. Still at it, and these days, also building cool archery abilities for the 2dX Engine!

We love @montecookgames.com. Their work has inspired us for years. From player-only rolling to GM intrusions, Numenera introduced us to a lot of new things. But most importantly, we learned to embrace the weird.

“Yissna elevated her favored plants and gave them bodies from the soles of her feet, so they might walk her cool grasses far from home. The first Krinsu embarked on the Great Hunt, taking naught from the soil, but tasting only flesh of prey.”

“My most cherished memories of home are those when my mother sang us the tales of Winfa and how we Fey came to be her children. The simple truth of the Fey is that our spirits find rest on the road and in the embrace of friends long missed.”

“We Aesyr are born of the Inferno-on-High. He gave us his fire and passion, so as stewards of his gift, our duty is to forge our saga as a smith forges a blade. By our rune-etched horns shall all know our deeds.”

When HeroQuest was republished in 2021, I was instantly transported to 1990. My cousin was such a trooper, paying for the game and playing with me anytime we got together. The Dwarf was my favorite “class” back then. His ability to upgrade his gear was so new to me.

It sounds like just like some tables have a "no alcohol" rule, there needs to be a "no AI" rule. 🤔 A good Session 0 topic for sure!
