I'm disgusted by what this administration has done. And my heart goes out to everyone who's been impacted by this decision, including the peer listeners who are now out of a job.

How many people fought to make this a reality and then did the complicated work of promoting its use in marginalized communities? I think about all the queer individuals who were brave enough to make these calls and the kind people who answered them.

I have lots of thoughts about the Trump admin's decision to defund this service.

But the first one I'll share is this: 988 and its LGBTQ+ service line was a rare public #mentalhealth win completely squandered by politics.
