I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Another old life painting from Scott Noel’s class. He loved these narratives where he had the models against the big windows in the elevator lobby. Often mixed in with the other students. Quick one class paintings. Hit it fast! Oil 2010

A life drawing from Scott Noel’s class. First he’d pose the skeleton and then the model and you’d draw over the first drawing. Nue pastel in Rives BFK 2008

Ha. It would be better to not have to stitch together posts. And post longer image threads. I was trying to post something yesterday and it wouldn’t let me— so fuck it. Facebook is still the best format that way.

Check out what can be accomplished by changing the size of the protagonist's figure throughout the page. Makes time changes less dependent on panel borders, creates depth that defies the flat plane of the page, & makes a talking heads page into a journey. Superb acting, also. Garcia-Lopez & Janson.
A comic book page from JLA: Classified by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez & Klaus Janson depicting a despot lecturing shocked world leaders via television screens.

Hey you know whatever works. My performance in on the board. It only matters what’s on the page or canvas. For the young social media makes it seem that you have to do all this other useless stuff so they can get likes that won’t last as career

Always a challenge to draw the bed chamber scenes where I can't show The Phantoms face while he is in bed. The domestic scenes are way more of a challenge than action.

An old day in the studio working on the Phantom with @liangarts.bsky.social and @mimisimon.com from 6 -7 years ago. The best way to tech is like this. On the job.

Some nice copies of Mark Schultz's pencils on Xenezoic from back in the day when he visited Williamson's studio in the late 80's.
