Playing through Berwick Saga trying to get even one quarter of the rank points (happiness rank), and I'm not sure whether it would be harder to do a true ranked run or an ironman. It's between reloading every five turns ten thousand times, or risking softlock through no fault of your own.

Just found out that the first boss of Metroid Prime 4 not only has two separate bits that are different, missable scans, but also has an attack that spawns an additional missable scan. These people know what they're doing and they can't be allowed to escape justice.

Metroid Prime 4 (2025) feels like the rough idea that gets refined into Metroid Prime (2002). It gets the broad strokes right, but completely misses the subtleties that made the original a masterpiece.

Some guy started liking a bunch of old posts of mine. Took a look at their page, first thing I saw was AI art tutorials. Blocked his ass.
The neat thing about being a nobody is that I'm not beholden to any algorithm. I don't need to care about getting eyes on my posts.

It's funny how I can describe the plot of PSO2 to myself and acknowledge that what's happening is objectively sick as fuck, but the actual telling is butchered so horribly that I still want nothing to do with it.

I love how in MMO circles, it is literally impossible for a boss to be hard. If it's a challenge that can be learned and overcome by a human being, anyone who struggles with it is garbage and a scourge on the community and should be blacklisted from all parties.

I appreciate Phantasy Star Online 2 as a perfect case study of the inevitable end result of the free to play model of video games. You can grind all you want, but the fun? That'll cost you.

So many ideas of Hell feel too clever for their own good. I'm sorry, but I feel like being eternally chained to the bed of a lake of dark fire that you never grow accustomed to, because magic, is probably worse than waiting in line at the DMV or whatever. Yes, even if there's a crying baby there.

Was genuinely super-excited to replay Silksong right up until Groal the Great. I beat him, but once I finish the game I am never launching it again. 0/10 boss, actively unfun, single-handedly took this game from a 9/10 to an 8/10 for me.

All this motherfucker has to do to kill you is pull you into the water one time and the fight is basically over. Only have opportunities to do chip damage because the thing moves around randomly. Then you die and it's a five minute runback and five waves of enemies.

Had a dream that was formatted like a TV show or movie. Don't even know what it was about or anything that happened, I just know I woke up with that distinct funk you get when you see something incredible and know that nothing will ever quite scratch that itch again. Lasted 2 days. It's bullshit.

I think I'm bad at video games now. Just spent the better part of four hours trying to beat Primordial Malzeno only to find out that the part I was stuck on was only phase 1, ie the part of the fight that's basically supposed to be a playable cutscene before the real fight. It feels bad.

Anti-homeless urban design is great because it doesn't do anything about the problem it attempts to address AND there's nowhere to fucking sit.

I've been enjoying Monster Hunter Rise a lot, but I can't stand how every monster by endgame goes through phases. One of my favourite things about MH is believability, and part of that is the monsters as fictional animals. Animals don't use 10% of their power to make it a fair fight.
