Another fun fact: the US Government has the Circle which was started by Ben Franklin and George Washington which employs the Men in Black. The White House itself utilizes Project Nightmare as its main arm (Which I totally stole but I don't really use but as a vague reference)

It's a masquerade setting which I prefer even if the world's history is significantly different from ours since having supernatural and magic available would make things be different in some small and big ways. Even hidden

Rogue hunters who hunt indiscriminately are targeted by the other groups to stop them. They are seen as serial killers and terrorist.

It is generally agreed that supernatural who pose no threat to the general population are to be left alone. Modernly, the world is trying to avoid the Inquisition from mobilizing again but there is always that threat lingering there.

Governments have their own hunter organizations and each of them might have different kinds of hunters there but it is less important from the POV's that I write in

The Good Folk are people who are chosen by a holy or unholy force to do good.

And Librarians are the most organized, providing resources, lore and keeping track of the Supernatural.

Hunters, in general, are the biggest group that are loosely organized. Huntmens specialize in dealing with the Fae Folk and people related to the Fae known as Grimms. Huntsmen operate like a MC Club

Slayers/Champions are gifted with unique abilities by the Powers That Be

A Librarian may have a team of Authors that they routinely use for their work or may provide help to Patrons, hunters who operate independently from the more formal groups mentioned previously.

Hunter come in a few flavors. Librarians, Huntsmen, The Good Folk and The Slayers/Champions. Each have their own little lore reasons and distinction for what makes them the hunter that they are.

Fun fact: Librarians typically don't do the hunting themselves but employ others as hunters
