In fact, the usual WH meeting of governors with the president during the annual meeting of governors was canceled by their association because the darkly political president restricted his invitation to Republican governors only. Makes absurd Vance's peevish admonition meant to chasten athletes.

Why? For what purpose? Some misguided craving for personal agrandizement, perhaps? What's certain is giant flag poles, Mara-a-lago style patios, oversized dance halls, and now an arch that will dominate the Washington skyline aren't going to make any American lives better. Sure won't fix inflation.

From the time Trump and his father faced charges by the NYC housing authority for racial profiling in their rental practices, it's hard not to see his racism as something as ugly as that of folks from Alabama or Mississippi. It's not hard to imagine him attending a KKK cross burning or lynching.

Canada needs to continue doing what it does now. It would be political suicide to move national police authority to control by the PMO rather than maintaining the status quo: a largely independent RCMP. The US needs to dissolve DHS and vest border security in a professional, independent DoJ and FBI.
