This is all true, but I think a key component to overcome whatever social/political view a sitcom consciously or subconsciously has is to make the primary goal be great jokes. 30 Rock aimed to be funny and nothing else, whereas Parks increasingly muddled that with Can’t Everyone Just Be Nice lessons
