From beauty to horror in much haste
Now its full of mess and pollution,
A wasteland with no solution,
Plastic, death and heating,
Those three things gave earth such a beating,
It's a horrid, cruel excuse of a land
In these conditions, earth will NOT stand

But maybe... (3/5)

Full of beauty as far as you could see,
It had cats and dogs and parrots galore,
It had ferns, leaves, trees and more
It was a happy place,
A happy world,
a world that puts a smile on your face

But now...

Now it is messy, disrupted,
Chaos totally erupted,
Now it's a world gone to waste (2/5)

Brilliant news!! Congratulations!!! 👏

Yes as I found providing fathers access to leave via a transferable entitlement, as UK’s SPL, exacerbates gendered parenting norms and does not provide parents means to imagine the feasibility of sharing leave / care in practice (for shorter read!: bristoluniversitypressdigital.com/view/journal...)

We published several research-based pieces in 2015 for @theconversation.com @theguardian.com @financialtimes.com etc. Our then policy messages/recommendations / now facts could easily be copied-pasted into 2025 @commonswec.parliament.uk’s report. Leave design matters! A few arguments below:

We have published a report, Equality at work: paternity and shared parental leave.

We found that the current system is broken, and have a number of recommendations to help fix it ⬇️

🧵1/ The UK government plans to cut international aid while ramping up defence spending. But must we choose between defence or aid? In a new @bmj.com piece, @kentbuse.bsky.social & I argue that we must invest in both. Here’s why. 👇

To be honest I have many other topics I would love to write about. I’m keen to get back to my new book on common sense. But I feel it is politically urgent to use our resources to keep contesting “gender critical” feminism. Here’s another, “Stealing Sex”. feministkilljoys.substack.com/p/stealing-sex

"the media ... focus on young men illustrates the male gaze that continues to dominate society, which not only means that whatever men do or think is deemed inherently important and worthy of both academic and political attention, but also sets men as the norm."

The real story isn’t young men supposedly voting far right. It’s what young women are up to | Cas Mudde
There is an opportunity staring centre-left parties in the face – if they reject the male gaze distorting our politics, says political scientist Cas Mudde
