Sports “insiders” are really nothing more than PR agents rather journalists that serve whomever will grant them access. They willingly take part in contract negotiations by putting stuff like this in print when there really is no story worthy of reporting

Sports media made them stars to varying degrees and they know name recognition matters a lot in politics. Now they want to parlay that fame and recognition into real power. But I think they’re wrong on their timing, if they’re smart they’ll wait until we get on the other side of Trump
