Unfortunately, Speaker Johnson has given up the ship; Trump is now the Captain of the House, thus gone is the primary check on the presidency. This is the type of policy that past Republicans would have lost their minds over; at least if Obama had done the same, they would have lost their minds.

When John McCain died, the soul of the GOP died with him. Imagine what he would be saying about the Ukraine conflict, the attacking of alleged drug boats in the Caribbean. I didn't always agree with him, but he knew wrong when he saw it. I miss him.

If I could exile one Trumplican, it would be Speaker Johnson, nobody is as consistent as MJ at kissing the ring. Other contenders--Tim Scott, Graham, Cruz, & Rubio have offered (at some point) criticism of the POTUS, but not MJ.

If he was a Democrat, he'd be out the door. Unfortunately, because (a) he is loyal to Trump, (b) because of the small Republican House majority, and (c) it's Florida, nothing will become of this scandal.

I've completed the reading of it and despite all that I had heard and read previously, I learned new info, passages that stand out. Overall, it's a remarkable read. My only disappointment is, Virginia will no longer be around to write the next volume.

Kelly is not the enemy, nor should he be targeted by the so-called secretary of war.
The senators who voted for Hegseth's confirmation, especially those up for reelection in '26, need to be reminded everyday of their mistake.

Republicans voted to keep the tax cuts for the mega-rich permanent. Now they need to be questioned about why they oppose making the ACA tax credits permanent.
