The New York Times has a story on PAGE TWENTY of today’s Sunday paper saying thousands mobilized?!

Absurd. Most others estimates suggest there were millions who took to the streets in something like 2,000 separate protests around the country yesterday.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social Good book, but you left out the recipe for the chocolate chip cookies with a hint of habanero. Please advise!

Just wrapping up a CITI ethics training refresher course only to find an outdated / offensive description of pregnant women as a vulnerable population, where vulnerable individuals are described as those who “do not have the decision-making capacity to provide voluntary informed consent”!

Spent a sunny afternoon w/ colleagues to bear witness to the systematic dismantling of health & scientific research in the US. It’s a damn shame. But standing shoulder to shoulder with a kind & brilliant scientific community was a beautiful way to spend today. @standupforscience.bsky.social

Yesterday, @theonion.com posted a story headlined “Democratic leaders stand real still in hopes no one notices them”.

This morning, James Carville has a featured NYT op ed arguing for “a strategic political retreat”.

We’re toast, folks.

So I saw Jaws for the first time last night.

1. Great movie! Perfect summer vibes. Sorry I slept on that for the last 40 years.

2. The whole “we’re not closing the beaches” plot point gave me some real COVID public health professional PTSD. So I guess that’s still a thing.
