An average idiot trying to be a little better every day. I'm still trying to figure out why @temnurus.bsky.social has put up with me for so many years, but I'm happy he has.
I love introducing people to this movie!

Fever dream is accurate, I spent so long thinking it was something I had imagined as a kid.

Thankfully the internet was there to confirm that it was in fact an actual movie. And to inform me that it had the first songs in English from Celine Dion.

Reminds me of that classic quote.

"Every time a bunny farts, a transphobe goes to hell!"

Something like that anyway, my memory sucks.

Masterful alt text, worth the read.

No problem, if it's even slightly valuable the rogue will use sleight of hand to get it to make a few silver.

He also says "we need to make sure that we’re not stealing people’s intellectual property and rights” and "Let’s just make sure that people are paid for their work."

His "middle ground", basically:

Spellcheck=good

GenAI=bad

I could be missing more context, but that's what I saw in the article.

I agree, but I think that VCG headline is kinda misleading.

Sham seems to be in support of AI tools that would increase efficiency and not GenAI that would replace creativity.

"The example given was the use of AI to transcribe content versus being used to actually write it." - from the article

These two organizations have excellent ratings on Charity Navigator

@stjuderesearch.bsky.social (96.34% of expenses go towards programs)
*full disclosure I'm biased towards them as a member the @drlupo.bsky.social community

@mskcancercenter.bsky.social (98.05% of expenses go towards programs)

Also if you want to donate to fund cancer research consider not giving to Susan G Komen.

There are many better options where more than 65% of donations go to programs.

And if there is anything like Valhalla, where fallen champions spend eternity in glory, then these absolute warriors like my friend, have earned their spot in those hallowed halls.

Fuck Cancer.

Fuck the American healthcare system.

Fuck R̶e̶d̶a̶c̶t̶e̶d̶ Healthcare in particular.

It's sad and difficult when somebody we care about passes out of this life and into whatever (if anything) is next, but I sincerely believe that the people that succumb to terminal illness are better off.

After that first round of chemo and leading up to the surgery, she took medical leave.

I never heard her voice again.
November 17, 2025 at 6:41 PM
It was on this call that we first heard about her cancer, her difficulties get treatments approved, her struggles with chemo, her initial positive results, and sadly the setbacks after the first round of chemo.

What got the 7 of us through each day was Teams. Every day, one of us would start the voice call for our group chat and we would join/drop as our schedules allowed. This was our space, where we could talk out the nonsense from our managers and help each other figure things out when we were stuck.

My friend was a person that was funny and charming. She cared about people and did what she could to make the world better. The team we worked on together was (and still is from what my friends still on the team tell me) a dysfunctional shithole.

I wonder how much she would have benefited from fewer roadblocks (from the health insurance company we work for btw) in the treatment process in the early stages. But I'm not writing this to play the what-if game.
