I have posted about this before but again today I had to try to capture a shot these male King Parrots. There are 9 of them in this single small tree (Acacia Viscidula). Despite their bright colouring they blend in so well.

We have several big old Radiata Pines and they just shred the cones, except for the ones they drop as we walk under them 😜

Playing Vets cricket in South West Rocks last week, it's a beautiful spot

We moved into our current 22 years ago today. It was a basic owner builder house on 2 acres almost entirely grass.

Today it's still the same house, with lots of upgrades, improvements and additions. But the garden is amazing
several horticulturists describe it as a "botanic garden".

We love it

Well what a surprise. I knew Mark Knopfler was born in Scotland but only just discovered he lived in and went to school in Bearsden, before moving to Newcastle. I thought I was the only great guitarist to come from Bearsden 😉

Every year at this time some of our Callistemons produce lovely white flowers which only last around 10 days and these flowers attract these beautiful tiny Scarlet Honeyeaters. Once flowers are gone, so are the Scarlets. Despite plenty of red flowers.

We always refer to the babies as Muppets, way too cute

He is walking reasonably well, just short distances. But then fell down the 3 steps from the veranda ... luckily he is ok.

He is improving but a long way to go.

For over 30 years we always had Tawny Frogmouths in our garden, then 2 years ago they disappeared. Walking around today my wife said "I really miss not having the Tawnys.

I looked up in their favourite tree and said "well ...as a matter of fact"... not making it up 🤗

We are in Day 8 of our Standard Schnauzer's battle to recover from paralysis tick. He is 12 yo and was very near death, totally paralysed. He still can't walk or even stand but he is gradually improving. #AussieTickBites

Found this little guy (Water Dragon?) this morning, covered in dirt so I assume he is newly hatched. A large Black Rock Skink was dangerously close so I released the little one a safe distance away.

Boy can they run!

This little (Brown Thornbill) was a bit stunned after running into a window. I put it in a small box and shortly after it made it clear that it wanted to get out

Cool spring day brings these beauties out onto the warm road. Unfortunately they struggle to get traction and redneck idiots delight in running them over. I encouraged this big beauty to rest elsewhere.

Our Magnolia has hardly flowered for the last 3 years. We just couldn't figure why the buds were just stunted stubs.

Today I watched a Satin Bowerbird consume an entire flower, leaving just a stunted stub 🥸. We have a lot of Bowerbirds .

When we sold our last place the market was red hot and we couldn't find a suitable place. Then we saw a home on 2 acres and this beautiful big gum tree in the middle. Soon after it was struck by lightning but it survived ... just like me 🫨

We built a lovely garden around this tree.

When we take our dogs (small, docile) for a walk around the garden they often follow us or flit around in front, driving the dogs crazy.
