bsky.app/profile/loui... schools are closed now too. It would be worth reposting this.
Schools across Winnipeg are closed today due to severe winter weather. For the safety of our students and staff and based on the Winnipeg Police Service advisory issued this morning to avoid road travel and shelter in place, the decision has been made to close all schools today, Dec. 18, 2025.

That’s a different division. It also seems now that some schools in LRSD may be closed.

I’ve found that the CTV Weather app has the best free radar futurecast and storm information. Environment Canada can be quite focused on the airport at times, and often gives broad statements which are accurate and not precise. Weather Underground is useful too. Weatherlogics is another nice source.

There are many. Winnipeg’s mayoral election elections were ranked and now aren’t. I don’t know what the reasons for the changes specifically were en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...

my #curling narative:
Why would Caruthers do that?
That’s an easy double.
You need a triple for 3 points and the lines don’t seem good. A draw for two looks easy.
McEwan knows better. He should know better after decades of play.
Oh, that’s why Caruthers left him that double.

For a major provider there should be a better way.
The standard for email is retry between each relay server is immediately followed by five minutes, one hour, two etc and give up after 72 hours. One server or connection out can cause this.
SMS is horrid and arbitrarily filters as spam.

He was a caring instructor. He spent time ensuring his students had what they needed to do well. He had a passion for teaching that made his courses enjoyable.
