Patience was Kingfisher's most exceptional talent.
He would patiently wait for the right moment, he'd patiently listen to others and, most importantly, he was always patient with himself.
Sometimes all you could do was wait, and Kingfisher understood this.

My ADHD came after personal journey of self reflection precipitated by grief

navigated 7 years of only parenting I’m seeing my children grow into wonderful inspiring people

I am having a solo trip to London enjoying meeting new interesting people and actually just being me.. #adhd #grief

Changed my mind. I'm now giving 100 of these away instead. I wonder if that might be possible, by next week, if this gets enough shares and hits the algorithm?
Hello! I'm giving away 20 (20!) signed paperbacks of this book to the first people to reply to this post. Stephen Fry called it "enchanting" and "hilarious" but some people hate it & that's all cool & what happens with books. Limiting this to UK (but happy to send outside if you can cover postage)..

Treatment helps!

Misdiagnosed as anxiety & depression commonly

I masked, didn’t know why I felt so anxious all the time and felt chaotic compared to others

medication has given clarity 🤓

As a Gp with ADHD can see how this affects patients & society and needs addressed

Looking after the #individuals is the ONLY way to build a truly thriving #workforce

Now more than ever we must attend to basics, and treat people in the #NHS landscape as the valuable, talented, generous and extraordinary humans that they are.
How can we help?

This is a vital piece of research which further highlights the pressure and stigma placed on doctors experiencing mental ill health.

We urgently need both a culture change and crucially, sufficient quality mental health support that is both preemptive and thorough.
73% of #doctors in the UK say they have continued to work despite not feeling mentally well enough.

These quotes are a tough read but it's why we are continuing to push for cultural change within the health sector. We have to reach a time when it is going to be OK to admit you are struggling with your mental health.
27% of #doctors feel taking time off for #mentalwellbeing issues is not “acceptable” where they work.

More needs to be done to enable and support healthcare workers to take time off when they are too unwell to work.

What a fantastic article.. neurodiversity needs support and recognition of strengths and allowances for the difference.. and acceptance 👏
'Like left handers, neurodivergent colleagues, who account for 15-20% of the UK population, are capable people who face additional challenges as a neurological minority.'

As professional with high standards reality others accept average is hard

Courage is standing up to fear

Even being the only one to do so
