King Sorrow by Joe Hill: A masterpiece, big, beautiful, timely, and epic. I genuinely could not believe some of the twist and turns this book took. I cried during the final 30ish pages. I’ve loved everything I’ve read of Joe’s but I think this might be his best work. More than worth the 9+ year wait

Disappearance at Devil’s Rock by Paul Tremblay: Spectacular but a deeply upsetting novel. Of all of Tremblay’s novels I think this is the only book that has something actually supernatural in it. I think he’s a master at these books that live in ambiguity.
