we use a pretty good pretty fast polymerase mix (1kb/sec) and one bad batch gave us headaches and eventually bands with just common primers. Sanger seqed it and turns out to be a exp vector of a special *cough cough* protein which may or may not have helicase activity, from a fairly recent pub...
