Have you ever paddled a river and found trash floating or buried beneath the surface? I found this toy car back in 2020 on the Haw River in NC. Who knows how long it had been there. The Haw River is smaller river compared to the Mississippi River, and I wonder what we are going to find.

Mission Statement:
Enable institutions to continue studying, monitoring, and advocating for the Mississippi River through grass-roots science support, community engagement, and amplifying awareness through media.

We are a skilled, volunteer-led science support organization beginning a thru-paddle of the Mississippi River in September 2025. We are partnering with local nonprofits, principal investigators, and locals to build a picture of the Mississippi River and its communities’ health.

Coby

Coby has a background in white water rafting, rock climbing, and thru hiked the Appalachian Trail '22 while fundraising for Camp One Step. Camp One Step, a program dedicated to enriching the lives of children with cancer and childhood cancer survivors.

Kara

Kara brings the professionalism to the team along with a good laugh.

From her background in traveling internationally for work to also thru hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2022, she is ready for an adventure and the research going into the Mississippi River.

Trevor

Trevor has a background in craftsmanship and in Nature.
He is an outdoorsman. He has a background in rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and has thru hiked the Appalachian Trial in '22 and on the AT, he fundraised for Camp One Step.

Meet the Team: Morgan

Morgan is a connector and loves the networking of like-minded individuals worldwide through travel and art. She studied environmental sustainability.

Throughout her travels, she has thru hiked more than 4,500 miles on the Appalachian Trail '22 and the Pacific Crest Trail '24.

Charles

Charles is a budding scientist studying Biology and Marine Science. The expedition "serves as a model for others to support science, the ecosystem, and careers of budding scientists". Charles thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2022 and has worked as a white water guide.
