Heading to Glasgow for @rcoanews.bsky.social College Tutors meeting. A great opportunity to share good practice and discuss the challenging head winds we face at the present. College Tutors are without doubt the unsung heroes of anaesthetic training and deserve our thanks the work they do.

The Spring issue of the Bulletin is out today!

As our editor @drjonchambers1.bsky.social says in his introduction, whilst change is inevitable, this training issue clearly demonstrates how our specialty continues to rise to meet the challenge of change.

Doesn’t feel like 5 years already since we had to learn to don PPE, to work in it all day & make it last because there wasn’t enough of it. People have different opinions about what did & didn’t happen. I can only say that in 27 years of practice it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen, every day.

Really important for patients to let their anaesthetist know if they’re taking a GLP-1 or dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist. As anaesthetists, having this information early on enables us to provide an individualised assessment of the risks and deliver the safest anaesthetic.
