🚨Great job with great people in Alaska 🐺🦌🧪

We are recruiting for a wildlife biologist to support our predator-prey program in Southeast Alaska. This application is now open. This is a great career starting point with room for growth in this field.

I've worked with >1 guy named Wolf(e) now...and know a kid named Fox (after his grandpa) by his dad who studied foxes. All too common, just look at bird people and they're last names 🧐

I'm not certain the policies of WCC, who will be the hiring org. I suggest applying and to reach out to the contact on the advertisement to see.

Thanks for sharing. One correction: it's not a harness (a harness may alter wool growth?) but simply a modification to the ear tags sheep and cattle already wear. The new version of the ear tag is much more durable than the prototype we used for the research!

So excited to see this come to fruition & owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to Stewart for not thinking my idea was dumb when I roped him in, Aaron for taking up the writing as part of his dissertation, all of the other co-authors, & especially the ranchers willing to work with us. It was a fun project.

Our original design was primitive (I'm a biologist not an engineer!) but an engineer made a slick new design and a private company has agreed to produce them!!! 👨‍🔬🧪🐑🐺🐄

OK, not exactly but we made FlashTags for livestock and it works! 🧪🐺🐑🐄

Anyone remember a few years ago when there were these videos of 'extreme' sheepherding with lights?!? Like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=L90Z...

Well, I saw one video and immediately thought: no carnivore is going near those lit up herds, lol. Then...I thought WAIT, let's try it. 🧪🐑🐺
