"Make America Healthy Again" report: 7/500+ citations don't exist. Perfect example of AI hallucination risks in government policy.
Teaching moment: Show students why AI literacy & fact-checking skills are essential NOW. Stakes too high for "trust but don't verify."

Tried Google's #Veo3 text-to-video generator with dialogue from my Wilfred (AI-fan) & Mortimer (AI-skeptic) ChatGPT characters. 8 seconds of pure uncanny valley!
Still obviously AI-generated if you look closely, but we definitely need "fake-spotting" in our AI literacy toolkit now.

Talking about creativity & AI earlier in the #LTHEChat - I made a video in #Sora. ""A Norwegian viking ship encountering a UFO in the middle of a calm ocean at midnight. The full moon is casting a mysterious light on the scene. The ship's crew is staring in wonder at the UFO. Cinematic style."

That was an excellent #LTHEChat this Wednesday evening! I often miss it (to my chagrin), but I finally made it, with excellent, thought-provoking questions by @saraheaton.bsky.social! Thank you, and thank you to @lthechat.bsky.social!

Turnitin's upcoming Clarity tool tracks draft histories & typing patterns. May support learning, but risks creating mistrust & limiting autonomy. Best for writing assessments, less for creative work. Must balance with maintaining trust & independent thinking.

Mistral released Saba, a custom model trained on curated Arabic data

Exciting - can this make AI more relevant (and less biased) to regions & being open-source, a viable approach for accessibility/equity?

Ofc - early days. Curious if Saba can keep Mistral's promises.

Oh, DeepSeek came from China's shore,
Way hey, roll and go!
Claiming billions saved and something more,
To me roll and go!

They say they trained it cheap and fast,
But questions lurk behind their mast,
While Western stocks are falling fast,
To me roll and go!

That Bluesky has the good ol' Twitter-vibe. I have now paused my X-activities, since Mr Musk let this once so useful platform become a cesspool of toxicity and hate. Why would anyone want to seek out such hate? X is an amalgamation of keyboard warriors now.
