If you're familiar with later abortion care in Denmark, I'm all ears to hear about why an 18 week ban isn't a problem.

But to your point: abortion is such a canary in the coal mine for the problems that emerge when socialized care systems are built on the assumption that improved access/care removes the need for services that - in privatized care systems - are often needed *because of* poor access or poor care.

My beef with Swedish abortion care is the absence of procedural abortion availability. I'd personally rather have a PAB than a MAB, especially at, say, 17 weeks. I think patients should have that choice.

Diana and I both work a lot with people travelling for abortion. Europe-to-America abortion travellers are, for sure, exceptional cases. But they exist. They come from health systems that outperform American healthcare for almost everybody... but sometimes fail later abortion seekers.
