When we don’t help these kids, many will self-harm or attempt/complete suicide. Even ONE child lost to this, especially when we have appropriate treatment right there, is an absolute and preventable tragedy.

Most treatments involve counseling and sometimes medication. Unfortunately,I don’t think the general public understands this.

They can’t trust anyone. They can’t access appropriate health care, even in our great Mitten state. This bill will cut some of them off completely. Even the name of the bill, “Stopping the Mutilation of Children Act,”makes it sound like we doctors are routinely performing drastic surgeries on kids.
