I think it would be within the capabilities of most of us to alter the two lines you're thinking of to any other lines of dialogue which would not seem out of place or an obvious replacement for them.

Reminds me of the standard term among Manchester student lettings companies, where anything advertised as "near Rusholme" meant it was in Moss Side (which, for those unfamiliar with Manchester neighbourhoods, has a rather less than salubrious reputation)

Wow, that is embarrassing, but TBF "Lembit should be LD leader" is absolutely awful and likely to stick in your memory, unlike the far more innocuous things Farage has forgotten, like "Hitler was right".

TBF, done well even a mechanical system like D&D can have some interest added, with a dramatic description of a big hit or missing at a crucial point, but it's even easier to fall into unadorned arithmetic with a system that always has the same game-mechanical outcome for any given roll.

Even the advantage and threat interpretations of the many systems that include those sorts of mechanics (when it's something other than e.g. strain arithmetic or bouncing boosts) give a bit more interest to the game system talk than just "hit for 7 damage".

Not only are libraries free as others have noted, borrowing from them also pays the author. Not as much or as directly as buying a book, but more than pirating.
