They remembered what they had learned in their church about Jesus and loving their neighbor no matter who they were. They decided that no matter what, they would help this family out.

They were headed cross country to find their cousin’s house but were trying to lay low because the election promised to deport them if they were found.

The stranded family felt hopeless and began to get their van ready to sleep in during the cold night. The sun had set when a mountain snowstorm started. It was going to be a long night. As they all bundled up the best they could, car lights came behind them as another car stopped.

The Pastor prayed for the family on the side of the road and promised to put the family’s needs in the church prayer needs email that week.
A couple of hours later, they recognized their Pastor from the church. They felt relieved that they would get some help. The Pastor stopped but didn’t have time to help as he needed to get to a Thanksgiving Service he was participating in.

The other Christian family decided it was too much time to help as they were late for their family get-together. They apologized and said they would pray for them.

The first car to come upon them was another Christian family. The stranded family waved them down and explained the situation as best they could.

There was no cell service; roads were narrow and winding in the mountains, and nothing for miles. They decided to wait for another traveler to help them out.
