Of all the people, Rubio knows DAMN well that the United States is the LARGEST contributor to the Global Fund, which provides lifesaving treatment for AIDS, TB, and Malaria.

Every year we have contributed BILLIONS in helping countries get these treatments.

The insidious “obvious now” factor is that all this dialog of vaccine and Tylenol causing autism is that it’s normalizing and setting the tone of “neurodivergence is an unforgivable sin and we must not let them exist”

It appears we’ve now gone down the rabbit hole (again) of anecdotes being evidence for mRNA vaccines causing cancer. And Robert Malone with his tacky:dated tinfoil hat claiming Pfizer tampered with their safety data… (with no evidence)

Luckily insurances are still covering for everything for the most part and providers for most folks can still administer without issues, but I would not be surprised if more challenging exceptions will come up. This group is hell bent on fumbling everything

On a basic level, the meetings were just a mess of folks unable to simply get votes/have cohesive discussions. Anti-vax tropes galore and a FUNDAMENTAL/PRE-REQUISITE lack of understanding of how our Vaccines for Children(VFC) program is aligned with ACIP recommendations. 100% “fools gold” science

If anyone has followed me back when I covered CDC’s ACIP meeting pre-trump, you’d understand that the group that is responsible for reviewing the data and making recommendation on vaccines are not THIS incompetent. Listening to their “deliberation” was equivalent to Reddit conducting a vibe check

Regardless of ACIP’s decision this week (this is one component of the vaccines availability) AHIP has noted that health plans will continue to cover all recommended immunizations as of Sept 1 2025.

Health plans are committed to maintaining and ensuring affordable access to vaccines. Health plan coverage decisions for immunizations are grounded in each plan’s ongoing, rigorous review of scientific and clinical evidence, and continual evaluation of multiple sources of data.

“Health plans will continue to cover all ACIP-recommended immunizations that were recommended as of September 1, 2025, including updated formulations of the COVID-19 and influenza vaccines, with no cost-sharing for patients through the end of 2026.

“While health plans continue to operate in an environment shaped by federal and state laws, as well as program and customer requirements, the evidence-based approach to coverage of immunizations will remain consistent.”

But to answer your question, I felt it went great. Towards the end I think I was sort of stretched thin and had to pull back. But the experience of chatting with folks on there has given me such great insight into vax hesitancy and communication.

It’s a huge demographic of folks who sit outside of the typical social media space. You will do amazing on there. Happy to chat if you ever need some additional insights

It was a huge untapped area of the internet where you had a lot of folks who would come in to broadcast their video games while chatting live with a chatroom. This would inevitably be a huge breeding ground for misinformation, so I positioned myself as a science communicator there

I use to be on twitch quite frequently. Towards the last 6-7 years I used it to just do something like an instagram live and host live Q&A’s to answer questions about Covid, vaccines, etc and debunk bogus science

We’re so focused on binary thinking, right or wrong, this or that, that we lose sight of what is actually killing us literally and figuratively as a democratic nation.
